Drupal provides the modern WCM capabilities to build, operate and optimize sites and experiences across any channel, device, personalization strategy and more. Drupal allows you to tap into the global power of an open source community, yet build exactly what your organization and brand requires to engage and convert customers and prospects.

Acquia and Drupal

Dries Buytaert created the first Drupal content management framework while finishing his master’s degree in 2000. As he was working toward his doctorate while also leading the open source Drupal project, he began to envision a company devoted to the success of Drupal and to supporting its growing community.

To “take Drupal full-time,” Buytaert and Jay Batson founded Acquia in 2007 to provide infrastructure, support and services to enterprise organizations using Drupal, to help Drupal scale, to promote open source software, to make Drupal easier, to spur greater adoption, and to empower a thriving network of Drupalists around the world.

Acquia initially offered managed cloud hosting and fine-tuned services for Drupal, and has now grown to provide a fully loaded digital experience platform with Drupal at its core.

Acquia brings the same pioneering spirit of Drupal to providing the world’s most ambitious brands with technology that allows them to embrace innovation and create customer moments that matter.

Let's look how the role of Upgrade…

You know the saying, “don’t reinvent the wheel” it also applies to Drupal site building. However, far too often content creators and web ops teams find themselves duplicating and rebuilding the same style and layout across multiple pages again and again. Having to manually reconstruct your Drupal layout for every page that you create using the WYSIWYG editor is not only time consuming, but it also results in the possibility of inconsistencies and a lack of a formalized…
Introduction This blog is a step-by-step guide for developers to set up a project enabled with Acquia Build and Launch Tool (BLT) on their local Ubuntu machine. BLT is a powerful tool that helps dev teams implement Drupal best practices (automated testing, CI, CD, coding standards) across all of their Drupal projects and Acquia cloud hosting environments. You can also extend BLT with custom BLT commands to perform operations specific to your project. In order to…

This blog was originally published on mikemadison.net in August 2020 and has been updated and republished here with permission.  One of the real challenges in the Drupal community today is that roughly 60% of the reported installations are still on Drupal 7. This data (as of the time of this writing) shows that despite Drupal 8 being out for nearly five years, Drupal 7 still significantly dwarfs its predecessor in use.
