Drupal provides the modern WCM capabilities to build, operate and optimize sites and experiences across any channel, device, personalization strategy and more. Drupal allows you to tap into the global power of an open source community, yet build exactly what your organization and brand requires to engage and convert customers and prospects.

Acquia and Drupal

Dries Buytaert created the first Drupal content management framework while finishing his master’s degree in 2000. As he was working toward his doctorate while also leading the open source Drupal project, he began to envision a company devoted to the success of Drupal and to supporting its growing community.

To “take Drupal full-time,” Buytaert and Jay Batson founded Acquia in 2007 to provide infrastructure, support and services to enterprise organizations using Drupal, to help Drupal scale, to promote open source software, to make Drupal easier, to spur greater adoption, and to empower a thriving network of Drupalists around the world.

Acquia initially offered managed cloud hosting and fine-tuned services for Drupal, and has now grown to provide a fully loaded digital experience platform with Drupal at its core.

Acquia brings the same pioneering spirit of Drupal to providing the world’s most ambitious brands with technology that allows them to embrace innovation and create customer moments that matter.

To me, meeting and building relationships in person is the glue that holds us together and makes Drupal a community. If this is your first DrupalCon or first Drupal community event, it’ll be your first taste of this crazy, smart bunch of people scattered around the globe most of the rest of the year. Welcome! I’d like to help you get the most out of your first DrupalCon! (What have I forgotten? Let me know in the comments. New attendees will appreciate your input!)…

You are a Project Manager, sitting at your desk, maybe sipping a fresh-brewed coffee. Suddenly you receive a heads-up that a new Drupal Project is headed your way. Sprint 0 will be starting in the next two days. You can assume that the SOW (Statement of Work) is signed, or almost signed, and a few SWAGs (Sophisticated Wild Ass Guesses) have already been ventured. What’s your first move? To ask the right questions to get the ball rolling -- quickly. As a project…

Object structures and functions are possibly two of the most commonly utilized syntactic features in JavaScript, as they both have important roles in defining classes in object-oriented programming. In ES6, defining methods and functions has become much easier with the help of concise properties and methods, and especially arrow functions, which may help to limit the lines of code you have to write. In the previous installment of this series, we took a closer look at…

People tend to choose bad passwords if they are allowed to. By default Drupal provides some guidance about how to "make your password stronger," but there's no enforcement of any particular password policy out of the box. As usual, there's a module for that. More than one in fact. Thinking on password policies has evolved over the years. The United States National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) has been working for some time on a new set of guidelines…
